Priority 01
Communication and Transparency
1. Stay connected year-round, not just at election time
Residents deserve consistent access to their elected officials. I will remain approachable and available through every channel—phone, social media, in-person conversations, or a quick note—so you always know what’s happening at council and in our community.
2. Genuine, honest, and fully transparent answers
Every question will be answered by me, personally. No exceptions, no hiding, and no non-responses. My decisions are your decisions, and you have the right to connect with me directly about them.
3. Proven track record of open communication
For eight years as Ward 1 Councillor, I have held regular ward meetings, provided consistent social-media updates, and kept channels open. That same commitment continues as Mayor.
4. Bridge the generational gap with new voices and ideas
As Mayor, I will actively engage the next generations, welcome fresh perspectives, and keep challenging how we communicate so more people feel heard and involved. Strong, ongoing connections are the best way we make a lasting difference together.
Priority 02
Infrastructure Investment
1. Protecting families from repeated devastation
Hundreds of households across Lincoln and the region have suffered flood damage. Stronger infrastructure is essential to stop this cycle and give people peace of mind during high impact weather events.
2. Adapting to more frequent extreme weather
High-impact storms are occurring more often. Relying on outdated “100-year storm” standards is no longer enough—investment is required to build systems that can handle today’s realities.
3. Balancing short-term action with long-term solutions
Immediate steps like ditch and creek maintenance help now, but lasting protection demands sustained investment, careful planning, and regional cooperation over multiple years to increase our system capacity.
4. Making community safety the top priority
Fiscal discipline remains important, but recent events show infrastructure resilience must come first. Prudent investment is the clearest way to ensure we are protecting our community.
Priority 03
Governance and Advocacy
1. Transparent Governance Reform
Support a full, open governance review conducted with genuine public input — not top-down changes that weaken smaller municipalities or bypass the democratic process.
2. Smart Efficiencies, Not Forced Amalgamation
Remain open to finding real efficiencies and tax savings, but only through a well-designed, properly executed plan that strengthens rather than diminishes local representation.
3. Strong Inter-Municipal Partnerships
Build robust working relationships with other Niagara municipalities so we can stand together and advocate effectively for our communities, regardless of who holds the Regional Chair.
4. Aggressive Provincial Advocacy
Push for a new provincial funding model that fairly addresses downloaded service costs, and demand reliable energy service from NPEI and Hydro One to protect residents and businesses.
Priority 04
Financial Accountability/Debt Management
1. Enforce Strict Financial Restraint and Structural Balance
Require every new program or spending increase to identify corresponding offsets or efficiencies. Protect and grow reserves specifically for infrastructure and unexpected pressures, while keeping property-tax increases as low as possible. Publish simple, transparent yearly financial dashboards so residents can see exactly how tax dollars are being managed.
2. Prioritize Long-Term Infrastructure Investment Over Short-Term Wants
Direct capital spending first to essential assets that protect public safety, support growth, and reduce future costs—roads, water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, and critical community facilities. Ensure a significant portion of the budget continues to be dedicated to capital infrastructure so today’s investments prevent larger repair bills tomorrow.
3. Maintain Conservative, Transparent Debt Management
Keep total municipal debt well below provincial guidelines (currently at 15% target and dropping to 10% by 2034). Review existing debt regularly for refinancing and debt reduction opportunities.
4. Apply a Rigorous “Needs vs. Wants” Filter to Every Decision
Require every budget request and capital proposal to be classified according to our current priorities. Core needs (Health and Safety) receive first priority; discretionary items must demonstrate clear community benefit, measurable outcomes, and available funding.
Priority 05
Development
1. Protect Existing Residents First
New development must not overload Lincoln’s infrastructure (especially stormwater and energy) or shift costs onto current taxpayers. Every proposal will be scrutinized for downstream impacts.
2. Demand Infrastructure Resilience
After the floods, development approvals will include a hard look at whether our systems can handle larger weather events. Capacity and community well-being come before growth.
3. Willing to Stand up
Will challenge and vote against developments that don’t meet Lincoln’s standards — even if it means defending the decision at the Ontario Land Tribunal. Doing what’s right for the community comes first.
4. Pursue Smart, Balanced Growth
Support development that delivers real benefits (new roads, parks, facilities, businesses, and services) while protecting the character and quality of life residents already value.
